The Kansas Securities Commissioner registers securities, broker-dealers and their investment advisers, loan brokers, and certain land subdivisions. The Securities Commissioner administers the Kansas Securities Act, the Loan Brokers Act, and the Uniform Land Sales Practices Act. Agency staff are responsible for investigating potential violations of the laws and ensuring that registered persons comply with industry, legal, and accounting standards. The agency enforces the laws it administers through civil, administrative, and criminal proceedings.
